Another way to word this problem: given the area of a square, find its perimeter.
A formula for the area of a square is A = s2 (area equals side squared).
For perimeter: P = 4s (the perimeter of a square is four times the length of one of its sides).
For this problem A = 64 ft2, so:
64 = s2
s = √64
s = 8.feet
If the side length is 8, then perimeter is four times that value:
P = 4(8) = 32 feet.
