total seats = 1650 = number of rows times seats per row = xy = (y+17)y = y^2 +17y

1650 = y^2 +17y

y = -17/2 +/-(1/2)sqr(17^2 +4(1650))

= -8.5 +/- .5sqr6889

= -8.5 +/- 41.5

= 33 rows

50 seats per row

50x33 = 1650 seats total
