A group of friends wants to go to the amusement park. They have $69.75 to spend on parking and admission. Parking is $17.25, and tickets cost $17.50 per person, including tax. Write and solve an equation which can be used to determine �p, the number of people who can go to the amusement park.

p= (69.75 - 17.95)/17.50

p= 51.80/17.50

p = 74/25 = 2 24/25 = 2.96 = only 2 people who can get in, but almost 3,

if someone comes up with 70 cents more then 3 can go

check their pockets for loose change,

it's only less than 1 quarter per each of the 3 people, 2 thin dimes plus a 3 or 4 pennies each

p = (69.75-17.95 + .70)/17.50 = 3

= 52.5/17.5 = 3 people
