Train Problem from MST3K episode "The Rebel Set"

There's this train word problem Gypsy recited in MST3K Episode "The Rebel Set". Even if the distance isn't established, can anyone figure this question out?

"A train leaves a station at 2PM, going 90 miles an hour. Another train leaves another station going the opposite direction at 5PM going 60 miles an hour. How long before they meet?"

Answer 1

by 5pm 1st train has gone 90x3=270 miles

by 6pm it will have gone 360 miles

while 2nd train went 60 miles

if the two stations are 420 miles apart they meet at 6pm

if 360 miles apart, they were together at 5pm

let x = miles over 270

time = distance divided by speed, t=d/r

t = 5 + x/150

if x= 420, t = 5+(420-270/150 = 5+1 = 6pm
