Do you offer online lessons?
Can I really learn to play through online lessons? I have no experience in the viola.

Hello!
Yes, online lessons are great as long as there is a strong Internet connection, the student's camera is positioned so that the instructor can see the student's instrument and fingers. Lighting is important--make sure your background is well lit and you may want to purchase a headset for optimum sound. Watch the instructor demonstrate melodic passages on the instrument and follow the music--always place the music at eye level. When you finish playing your assigned pieces be sure and ask questions as needed. When first logging on at every lesson teachers should test the sound and picture of the student's computer to insure everything is in working order. If there is a disconnect as sometimes happens, click on the refresh button if the screen freezes, or if that does not fix the problem, reboot the computer then try to log on and connect with the teacher. Hope that helps--I have had excellent experiences with online teaching and learning! Deborah

Yes! All students who speak fluent English can take advantage of online lessons from anywhere in the world. Students taking online lessons will need both a metronome and a tuner, which provides a sustained tone, to be used simultaneously. Recommendations of available devices and apps will be made upon request. Online students should also have reliable, high-speed internet access and a quiet space during lesson time.
