It's a very famous theorem that relates the 3 sides of a right triangle. Keep in mind that this theorem only applies to a right triangle. It states that if a triangle is right-angled, then the following equation can apply. a^2 = b^2 + c^2. A is the hypotenuse, or the biggest side, and b and c are the other 2 sides of the right triangle. The equation says the square of the length of one side plus square of the length of the other side is equal to square of the length of the hypotenuse.
