What is the positive value of X in the solution set of the equation 3X^2-48=0?

The first step is to add 48 to each side, so you are left with 3x2 = 48

then, divide each side by 3

you should now have x= 16

If you take the square root of both, you will get plus or minus 4.

The positive value of x is 4.

3x^2-48=o

=> 3x^2=48

=>x^2=48/3=16

=>+_√x^2=√16

=>+_x=4

so, x=4 , or -x=4 => x=-4

but, as only positive values of x are required, x≠-4

ANS. x=4.
