Resounding is an adjective describing the quality of something and mostly means “loud”. In poetry “resounding “ is used before different nouns telling us about feelings, thoughts, wishes, and emotions. Taking into account that “ resounding” mostly stays before nouns- it’s definitely an adjective. But in the sentence: “ What are you doing? - Resounding the song.”
Resounding describes the process of doing. And, I thing, it’s a verb.

resounding is an adjective meaning emphatic - it was a resounding success or loud enough to reverberate - she gave him a resounding slap across his face

I'm wondering what point you're trying to get across with this phrase. Resounding can be used as a verb (present participle), as in "The wolves' howls are resounding throughout the cavern." There, it is used as a synonym to "reverberating" or "echoing," referring to the actual sound.06/14/23
