asked 06/02/23The grade 6 music Club sold tickets to a concert. They sold 80 tickets at $7 each at the door and sold 50 tickets at $5 each during lunch. They spent $100 on programs and paid $75 per hour for the 3-hour concert to be recorded. Write and simplify an expression that models the total money raised after expenses, from the concert

Hi Asma!
The expression that we will have will be: 80 * ($7) + 50 * ($5) - $100 - 3 * ($75).
The 80 * ($7) + 50 * ($5) are added together as this is where you are making money. You make 80 * ($7) because you sell 80 tickets each for $7, and the 50 * ($5) because you sell 50 tickets at $5 each. The expenses have to be subtracted. The expenses here are the $100 that you paid in programs and the $75 you pay for 3 hours (thats why you multiply $75 by 3!). That is why there is a minus sign between them.
The expression is above, but if you wanted to simplify the expression it would be $560 + $250 - $100 - $225 = $485. Hopefully this makes sense! If you have any questions feel free to let me know.
