Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
-2x -10 = (2/3)(x+1)
try x= 4
-8-10 = (2/3)(5)
-18 doesn't = 10/3
try 2
-4-10 = (2/3)(3)
-14 = 2
doesn't work
try -4
8 -10 = (2/3)(-4+1)
-2 = (2/3(-3) = -2 BINGO
x=-4 is the solution
C is the
answer
-2x-10 = (2/3)(x+1)
-6x-30 = 2(x+1) <-- Multiply both sides by 3 to eliminate fraction
-6x-30 = 2x+2
-30 = 8x+2
-32 = 8x
-4 = x
Therefore, C is the correct answer!
