and g(-3) = 2, what is the value of A?

g(-3)=2=-10/(-3-A)

1=5/(A+3)

A+3=5

A=2

g(-3)=(2(-3)-4)/(-3-2)=-10/-5=2

g(q)= (2q-4)/(q-2)

assuming you left out some "implicit" parentheses

which seems very likely

UNLESS

you actually meant

g(q)=2q-4/q-A, then

g(-3)=2=2(-3)-4/-3 -A=-6+4/3-A

8-4/3=-A

A=-20/3

g(q)=2q-4/q +20/3

g(-3)=2=-6+4/3+20/3

8=24/3

g(q)=2q-4/q+20/3
