y = x^3 is cubic and symmetrical about the origin, so it's an odd function
f(x) = x^3 and f(-x)= -f(x)
to be even, like y=x^2, it's symmetrical about the y axis, so it's an even function
where f(x) = f(-x)
f(x)=x^2 = f(-x)= (-x)^2 = x^2
same with other odd powered functions, they're odd functions
same with other even powered functions, they're even functions
f(x)=x^4 is an even function
f(x)=x^6 is an even function
f(x) = x is an odd function, y=x is an odd function f(-x)=-x=-f(x)
f(x)=x^5 is an odd function

just double checking, is the cubic graph both odd and even? thank you for your help!04/22/23
