If you look at the third and fourth fractions, they look like a geometric series (why?).
And remember, multiplying a number by 3 is the same as dividing by 1/3.
So what is 387 / 3? And what is 129 / 3? Once you do those calculations, the series should start to make sense.
By 'simplify your answer', I think they may mean 'restate the series using the same denominator in the fractions'.
