plug in (-8,1) to find b=the y intercept

1 = -8/2 +b

b = 1+4= 5

y =x/2 +5 in slope intercept form, where coefficient of the x term = slope and constant term=y intercept

multiply both sides by 2

2y = x +10

x -2y =-10 in standard form

(-8) -2(1)

= -8-2

= -10
