asked 03/11/23Application rate of insecticide
If I have a product with a .7% concentration that is applied at 3 oz/gal what would the app. rate be for the same product at 22% concentration using a hose end sprayer with dial settings of tsp, tbsp, oz / gal.
And if the specific dial setting isn't there what would be the amt. of water (for dilution) I'd need to add to the 22% product to deliver it at whatever tsp, tbs, oz/ gal achieving the same app rate as the .7% at 3 oz/gal?
The sprayer has marks @ 1, 1 1/2, 2, 4 tsp 1 tbs 1, 11/2 ... oz all per gal.
I've called the manuf. (in Israel !!) and US contact won't pick up. Sprayer manuf. won't answer since it's not their product!
Pls help, I want to apply at the correct rate.
Thank you

I am a gardener and understand your frustration!
The target is .07(3oz per gallon) = .21 oz per gallon.
Solving .22(x oz per gallon)= .21 oz per gallon, would give you an answer of .95 oz. It makes sense that if you are using a product that is 3 times the strength you would need to use one-third as much.
