if you have an equation with fractions it helps to eliminate the fractions by multiplying by a common denominator. preferably multiply by the least common denominator, LCD
x/3 + y/6 = 1/9
multiply by 18
6x +3y = 2
3y = -6x +2
y = -2x +2/3 in slope intercept form, slope=-2, intercept = 2/3
