Parenthesis in fraction equations.

Here's the equation that is in question:

1000

—————

480 * 1.73

In this case, the denominator would have to be solved before the division between the numerator and denominator was performed, even though the denominator is not in parentheses, right?

If I remember correctly, the numerator and denominator have to be solved separately before the division between them is performed, regardless if there are any parenthesis or not.

So with this question, it does make a difference between if the denominator was in parenthesis or not? Isn't there a general rule that the numerators and denominators need to be solved separately before dividing the numerator?
