2)How much water must be evaporated from a 60 oz, 10% saline solution to produce a 20% saline solution? Round your final answer to 1 decimal place if necessary.



been having problems with word problems can I see the rough work for these 2 questions and then using ur work do the math myself?

originally there were 300+255= 555 mL of sugar water

45% of 555= .45(555)= 249.75 mL sucrose (sugar or fructose&glucose)

249.75/300

= 83.25% sucrose

after 255/(305.25)= 83.54% of the water evaporated

leaving 50.25 mL of original 305.25 mL water not evaporated

evaporate 30 oz of water to get 20% saline solution

54 ounces are water in the 60 oz 10% saline solution. .10x60= 6 ounces salt

burn off 30 ounces of water leaving 54-30= 24 of 30= 24/30=.8= 80% water

100%-80%

=20% saline solution.

6 ounces salt of 30 remaining ounces

6/30=1/5=.2=20%
