The trick with doing these kinds of ratio problems is to figure out the total number of parts involved and then create the two (or more) needed fractions. The ratio here is 3:1, so there are four parts (3 + 1). So Amanda will get 3/4ths and Busi will get 1/4th. Now you can calculate how many of the total of 28 sweets each will receive. 3/4 x 28 and 1/4 x 28. Fortunately, these answers will work out to nice whole numbers.
