Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
use substitution and elimination, or matrix algebra row reduction
7x +6y = -5
-4x +y = -6
y =-6+4x
substitute last value of y into 1st equation:
7x + 6(-6+4x) = -5
7x -36 +24x = -5
31x = -5+36=31
x=1
y = -6+4x = -6+4(1) = -2
y=-2
(x,y) = (1,-2) is the intersection point when the 2 lines are graphed
