A candy distributor needs to mix a 20% fat-content chocolate with a 30% fat-content chocolate to create 150 kilograms of a 24% fat-content chocolate. How many kilograms of each kind of chocolate must they use?

A) Write an equation that uses the information as it is given above that can be used to solve this problem. Use x as your variable to represent the quantity of 20% fat-content chocolate.

.3(150-x) +.2(x)= .24(150)

-.3x +.2x = .24(150)-.3(150)= .-.06(150)= -9

x=9/.1 90 kg of 20%

150=90= 60 kg 30%

to get 150 kg 24%

.3(60) + .2(90)= 1.8+1.8=3.6

= .24(150)= 3.6

30-24=6

24-20=4

6/4=3/2 times as much 20% as 30%

90/60= 3/2
