This is a linear function. Total cost = fixed cost plus variable costs (the latter term reflects the miles driven)
40 = 19.95 + 0.15x. Solve for the miles (x) to find the no. of miles she can drive for $40.
20.05 = 0.15x
x = 20.05/0.15 = 133.67 miles max.
