To find the tangent ratio, you need
the opposite side and the adjacent side
of the given angle.
opposite
In general, TanΘ = ------------
adjacent
The opposite side is the side directly across from that angle.
The opposite side of a right angle is a special case of an
opposite side. It is called the hypotenuse. It is the longest side
of the triangle.
The adjacent side is the side right next to the angle that is
NOT the hypotenuse.
I'll give you something to start with. The side adjacent to ∠J
is of length 3.
