Hi Taylor,
To find any 2 points other than the vertex and x-intercepts, you can just plug in numbers for x.
With the form you are given, you can find that the vertex is (2, -5). So you just cannot use x=2. To make sure you don't use x-intercepts, just make sure that (x−2)2−5 ≠ 0.
So for x=0:
g(0)=(0−2)2−5 = (-2)2-5 = 4-5 = -1. The point is (0, -1).
For x=1:
g(1)=(1−2)2−5 = (-1)2-5 = 1-5 = -4. The point is (1, -4).
