The sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle must be greater than the third side. If a triangle has one side that is 1717 inches and a second side that is 44 inches less than twice the third side, what are the possible lengths for the second and third sides?

Let’s assume that the first side is the greatest,

lets mark the third side as X so that means that the second side is 2X-44

since the first side will be smaller than the sum of the 2 others we will get that:

X+(2X-44) > 1717

when solving that we get that

X> 587

so possible answer will be 588, and (2x588-44) is 1132
