1 liter = .264172 gallons= roughly 1/4 of a gallon
a gallon = about 4 liters
$1.45 per liter = about 4x1.45 = $5.80 per gallon
or more precisely:
$1.45 per liter = $1.45 per .264172 gal = 1.45/.264172 = $5.49 per gallon
but your question doesn't say $1.45 per liter, it just says "1.45 per liter" and if you saw that on a European gas pump it likely would mean 1.45 Euros per liter, not 1.45 dollar per liter. the current exchange rate, as of Jan. 26, 2023, is 1 dollar = .92 euros. but the exchange rate changes over time, depending on relative inflation rates in the US and Europe, and currency manipulators like Soros or the central banks.
one euro = about 1.087 dollars = about $1.09
1.45 euros per liter = 1.45x1.087 = $1.58
1.45 euros per liter = 1.58 x 5.49 per gallon
= $8.67 per gallon
but you may want to ask this question to someone who has actually been a US vistior to Europe, and rented a car there, recently.
Also, taxes are not indicated in America. State, federal and local taxes are included in the gas pump price in America, without the consumer knowing how much they are. Does Europe similarly hide their taxes? 1.45 per liter mean before or after European taxes? And does 1.45 per liter mean a different price depending on which European country, whether UK or Switzerland, Greece or Finland?
