But if you're into creative things, maybe try to look at math from a creative perspective, and find math problems that are creative, related to whatever particular creative fields you do have a serious interest in.
or look at the bigger picture, or practical sides.
look at the long term goals, and where math fits in.
Personally, I attended colleges where a foreign language was a requirement. I quit trying to learn spanish after one year. It was a big mistake. Instead I found a college that allowed math courses to replace the language requirement. Math was easy for me. I thought I found a loop hole. but years later I wished I'd tried even harder at learning spanish (or any foreign language). I didn't see the long term benefits, enough at the time.
Chinese and Asians in America are known for high academic standards and high math scores. So you have a family problem. Hard to say try even harder. Although I wish I had tried harder in a different but similar family situation.
Music is creative, yet also mathematical. Whatever your creative interest, there is likely some math component to it. Maybe try to find that part of it and you may enjoy the math part more. Maybe. You never know. At least hate the math less, if you realize it's part of your enjoyable creative intereset.
