Eight friends went to the hockey game at a price of admission of $8 each, so this part of the equation is 8x.

For of the friends each bought a soda for $2, so this part of the equation is 4*2.

The equation is:

C = 8x + 4*2

C = 8x + 8

C = 8 (x + 1)
