No solution. If you add 2 even numbers, the sum is an even number, never 217
217/2 = 108.5
109+108 = 217
108 and 109 if you want 2 consecutive integers
x+x+2 = 217
2x = 217-2= 215
x = 215/2= 107.5
x+2 = 109.5
107.5+109.5 = 217
if you want two non integer numbers summing to 217
which are as apart as 2 even consecutive numbers
either there's a mistake in the problem or in copying the problem, as otherwise there is no solution
maybe the 7 was supposed to be an 8 but the finger on the keyboard hit the wrong key. Then 2 consecutive even integers summing to 218 would be 108 and 110
