or just y = x-4 with an implicit 1 as the coefficient of the x term. the constant term is the y intercept -4, or the point (0,-4)
when a linear equation is solved for y, the coefficient of x is the slope and the constant term is the y intercept. the y intercept is when x=0
x-y =4 in standard form, ax+by =c, a=1, b=-1, c=4
