Hi there! You have a total of $24 to spend. Of that, you need to spend $23.50 to get into the park. With the money that you have left, you can ride some number ("x") of rides for $0.25 per ride. To find the number of rides you can afford, you can set up an equation:
24=23.50+0.25x
You can now solve for x by subtracting 23.50 on both sides:
24-23.50=23.50-23.50+0.25x
0.50=0.25x
Now, divide off 0.25 to get x by itself:
0.50/0.25=x
x=2
After paying for the entrance fee, you only have enough money to go on two rides. Bummer! :)
