Brian paid $12.00 for 7 muffins and 1 loaf of bread.

If the prices remain the same at the bakery, how much would it cost for 1 muthn and I loaf of bread?

m+2b = 11

multiply both sides by 7

7m+14b = 77

7m +b = 12

subtract the equations above to eliminate one variable,

14b-b = 13b =77-12 = 65

13b = 65

b =65/13 = $5 for a loaf of bread

m =11-2(5) = $1 for a muffin

7(1)+5 = 12

1 +2(5) = 11
