z = sqrt(x2 + y2)
x2 = (4 sqrt(2))2 = 42(sqrt(2))2 = 16(2) = 32
z = sqrt(32 + 32) = 8 (+/- 8 in algebra class)

asked 01/04/23please help! I've been stuck here for a good 30mins. Its Pythagorean theorem
z = sqrt(x2 + y2)
x2 = (4 sqrt(2))2 = 42(sqrt(2))2 = 16(2) = 32
z = sqrt(32 + 32) = 8 (+/- 8 in algebra class)
Please consider a tutor. Take care.

PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM
SIDE2 + SIDE2 = HYP2
X2 + y2 = z2
(4√2)2 + (4√2)2 = z2
(16)(2) + (16)(2) = z2
32 + 32 = z2
64 = z2
√64 = √z2
8 = z
z = 8
SHORTCUT -- ISOSCELES TRIANGLE [both short sides = 4√2]
MULTIPLY short side by √2 to calculate hypotenuse [longest side]
√2 x = z
√2 (4√2) = z
2 (4) = z
8 = z
z = 8
SHORTCUT EXPLANATION -- √2 (√2) = √4 = 2
THEN MULTIPLY 2 by 4 = 8
