Why we do sumation of fraction this way, i donot understand the nessacity of second last step

(3/4)+(1/2)

(3/4)+(1*2/2*2)

(3/4)+(2/4)

Here denomiter are equal so if add them as our basic math then our answer are

5/8 but this is wrong but if you think practically this is true.

But right answer is.

5/4

= (3+2)/4

=5/4

or work out the solution with decimals

3/4= .75

1/2 = .5

.75 + .5 = 1.25

1.25 = 5/4

5/4 is correct. 5/8 is incorrect

or use a handheld or online calculator to make sure you did the arithmetic right.

You only add the numerators, not the denominators. The common denominator stays the same

so correct answer is 5/4, NOT 5/8

(3+2)/4 NOT (3+2)/(4+4)

Think of the common denominator as like fruit, 4 is the fruit

2 is apples, 4 is initially a different fruit

by converting both fractions to a common denominator, it's like adding fruit

to avoid adding apples and oranges

3 apples plus 2 apples = 5 apples where the common denominator is fruit or apples = the "4"
