2x-2y=-6
divide by 2
x-y=-3
y=x+3 has slope =1, any perpendicular line has the negative inverse slope = -1
y=-x + b is a perpendicular line. to solve for b, plug in the point (9,6) x=9, y=6
6=-9+b
b=9+6
b = 15
y=-x+15 is the perpendicular line through the given point, in slope intercept form
or
x+y =15 in standard form
or
x+y-15=0 in general form ax+by+c=0 a=b=1, c=-15
or
y-6 = (-1)(x-9) in point slope form
y-6=-x-9
