The Trans-Global Shipping Company has been forced to lay off some workers due to a decrease in revenue. Last year, the company had to lay off 80 people. So far this year, they have had to lay off 15% more employees than last year. How many have been laid off this year?

Number of people laid off last year (n) = 80

15% more employees than last year = (80X15%)/100%

= 12 people

So, totally 80+12 people laid off this year = 92
