y=(3/4)x +2
is a straight line with slope =3/4, y intercept =2 = the point (0,2)
an x intercept = -8/3 = 2 2/3 = the point (-8/3, 0)
one simple way to graph the line is plot the two points and connect them with a line
y=(3/2)x -1 is a straight line with slope =3/2, y intercept =-1 = the point (0,-1)
and x intercept = 2/3 = the point (2/3, 0)
plot the two intercepts and connect them with a line
find the x intercepts by setting y=0 and solve for x
or you could go to a graphing calculator, handheld or online and graph the two equations
UNLESS you really did intend to write y=3/(4x) +2
y= 3/4x +2
then
the graph is a rectangular hyperbola with vertical and horizontal asymptotes, x=0 and y=2
same with
y=3/2x -1
another hyperbola, asymptotes x=0 and y=-1
but odds are you wanted the first pair of solutions.
technically though the problem as written would require the 2nd set of solutions
"No check, no credit" could mean unless you write a big enough check (bribe) for the teacher you get no credit. Write it big enough, and it's super extra credit. Linear or exponential relation between money and grade. Post date the check, and if you don't get the grade you paid for, have the bank cancel the check, and report the teacher for extortion. If you're under 18, they can't charge you as an adult.
