L=W+3

A=(W+3)W = W^2 +3W = 54

W^2 +3W -54 = 0

(W+9)(W-6) = 0

W = 6, -9 units Wide

L = 9 or -6 units Long

Probably ignore the negative solutions, (unless you're in the twilight zone or higher dimensions)

unless direction is somehow involved in the problem

Length = 9

Width = 6

Area =LW = 9(6) = 54
