This is a history question please help!!!!

Question

Clausewitz cogently defines war as a rational instrument of foreign policy: “an act of violence intended to compel our opponent to fulfill our will.” Students will examine and write a 4 paragraph paper on their understanding of types of conflict and if they wholly agree with Clausewitz and why.

War is just another tool in the politician’s tool box. Car Von Clausewitz was an interesting character in German history. Clausewitz was an experienced military officer in the Prussian army. Toward the end of his life, he started mostly philosophical work examining war. Although his work “on War” was never finished upon his death, he really helped other look at war in a new light. One part of his work basically states war is necessary and in fact just another political tool that nations can use (Clausewitz 1876). A person can agree or disagree with this statement using a verity of topics for support, such as life experience, morality, Philosophy, economics, etc. my suggestion would be to pick a subject you are good at or have interest in and use that as a basis of why you agree or disagree with the work of Clausewitz.
