The letter "p" in biology/biochemistry can be confusing. In case of pH and pK, it is -log.
pH = -log [H+]
pK = -log K
In case of gases, example, pCO2, the "p" stands for partial pressure of carbon dioxide.
For this problem:
pH = -log [H+]
3.5 = -log [H+]
-3.5 = log [H+]
[H+] = inverse log (or antilog) -3.5
[H+]= 3.2 x 10-4 M. (to two significant figures since 3.5 has two significant figures)
