Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
y=kx/L
y=25, y=45
x = ?, x= 18
L = 32, L=52
trying to makes sense of this, maybe
45 = 18k/52
divide by 9
5 = 2k/52
cancel 2 on the right side
5 = k/26
multiply both sides by 26
k = 5(26) = 130= the constant of variation
y = 130x/L
plug in the y, L numbers to find x=?
25 = 130x/30
divide by 5
5 = 26x/30
cancel 2 on right side
5 = 13x/15
multiply both sides by 15
13x = 75
divide both sides by 13
x =75/13 = about 5.77
x = approximately 5.77 when L=30 and y =25
(if I read the problem correctly)
