y=5x
y =5(10) = 50
y =50 when x =10
that's if x and y vary directly, in direct variation, with a constant k of variation
but
when you say "direct proportion" it seems like you mean the same thing, "direct" suggests
direct variation.
although "proportion" suggests a ratio, a fraction and inverse variation possibly
if so
then use y=k/x, 35=k/7, k =245
y = 245/x
y = 245/10 = 24.5 when x =10
