asked 11/30/22A house blueprint shows the bedroom is 5 inches wide and the actual length of the bedroom is 20 feet wide. If the bedroom has a length of 16 feet what is the length on the blueprint?

Cross-multiply: 240x = 960
x = 4 in.
I would convert everything to inches to solve this problem. We know that there are 12 inches in 1 foot, therefore 20 feet = 20*12 inches = 240 inches and 16ft = 16*12 inches = 192 inches.
Now we find how much larger the room is from the blue print. Create a ratio 240/5 = 48 times as large. Therefore, the length on the blueprint would be 48 times smaller.
Find this by 192/48 = 4 inches
