General form for slope-intercept is y = mx + b (m is slope, b is y-intercept)
Original equation: y = -5x + 2, so slope of new equation must also be -5. Only the b term must change to meet requirement to pass through point (-7, -4), so let's solve for the new b term.
-4 = -5(-7) + b → -4 = 35 + b
b = -39
New equation is y = -5x - 39. You can check it on the Desmos Graphing Calculator site.
