Bill and Ted took an excellent adventure. They both saved money for the adventure but in different banks with different rates and they started with different amounts. The table below shows their data month by month for their respective banks. What month did they have the same amount in the bank?

Bill starts at $10 and increases at $10/mo; Ted starts at $70 and increases at $5/mo.

10 + 10n = 70 + 5n (n = no. of months)

5n = 60

n = 12 months.

Check: 10 + 12(10) = $130 after 12 mos. (Bill)

70 + 12(5) = $130 (Ted)
