multiply by 3 to eliminate the fraction
-y + 12x = 9
solve for y
add y-9 to both sides
12x-9 =y
y = 12x -9 is the equation in slope intercept form. Graphically, it's a line with slope =12 and intercept =-9
the slope = the coefficient of the x term when the equation is solved for y. the y intercept = the constant term = -9
UNLESS you really did mean to write -1/3y +4x = 3
which actually means -1/(3y) + 4x = 3
then
-1/3y = 3-4x
-1/(3-4x) = 3y
y =-1/(9-12x) which graphically is a rectangular hyperbola.
