Just to be clear points do not have a slope, but the line passing through two given points does (assuming the line is not vertical).
To find the slope of the line passing through (-3,-2) and (x, 6) use the formula for slope (change in y over change in x).
2= [6 - (-2)] / [ x - (-3)]
2 = 8/(x+3)
2x+6 = 8
2x=2
x=1
