The intercepts are where the line crosses one of the axis. That happens when either x or y is 0. The y-intercept is when x is 0 and the x-axis is when y is 0. So, to find the y-intercept, plug 0 in for x and you get:
y=2+2(0)
y=2
The point is (0,2)
To find the x-intercept, plug 0 in for y:
0=2+2x
2x=-2
x=-1
The point is (-1,0)
