It looks like 12 pounds of apples would cost $12.84. Can you see why? (Hint: They both bought 11 pounds of cherries).
From there you should be able to determine the cost of one pound of apples.
Enjoy.

Hi Arii E
Apples are $1.07 per pound
Cherries are $2.78 per pound
Let x = the price of apples per pound
Let y = the price of cherries per pound
4x + 11y = 34.86
16x + 11y = 47.70
You can solve these by Elimination or Substitution, try one see if you agree with my numbers above.
