Hi Antonio!
If you reduce x by 1/3, "y" will be reduced by 1/3.
Why? Because "Y" is the dependent variable. It depends on X. If X grows larger, "Y" grows larger by the same proportion.
Example: y=3x
27=3(9)
If we reduce 9 by 1/3 we have
18=3(6)
As you can see 6 is 1/3 smaller than 9, therefore, 18 is 1/3 smaller than 27.
